6th Annual Vineyard to Vintner: On the Trail of World Class Cabernet

Napa Valley, CA (March 20, 2006) ­ Join the Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association at its 6th Annual Vineyard to Vintner: On the Trail of World Class Cabernet on Saturday, April 22, 2006. The annual V2V event promises a day of discovery and adventure, complete with thirteen private winery open houses and culminating in a vintner-hosted dinner at Stags’ Leap Winery.

The day begins with Leap to Your Senses: A Sensory Seminar, a blind tasting at Silverado Vineyards where participants, with a custom tasting kit, will learn about the distinct aromas and tasting components that characterize the Stags Leap District. Guests can then visit the open houses at over a dozen beautiful wineries located within the world-renowned appellation. Visitors will enjoy personal access to the vintners and winemakers as they open their caves, barrels and cellars for special tours and tastings unavailable to the general public.

The 6th Annual V2V culminates in Under the Leap: Roving Feast and Wine Tasting at the historic, century-old Stags’ Leap Winery and Manor House. Barrel tastings, an alfresco roving feast under the Stags Leap Palisades, and soft jazz are the accompaniments to the winery’s glorious gardens.

The Leap to Your Senses seminar takes place at Silverado Vineyards from 10:30 am to 11:30 am; limited seating requires advance registration. The private open houses with exclusive food and wine offerings begin at 11:00 am and end at­ 4:00 pm, and the alfresco feast is from 6:00 pm ­to 8:30 pm. The Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association is a non-profit organization of vintners dedicated to the betterment of its grapes and the recognition of the Stags Leap District as a pre-eminent Cabernet Sauvignon producer. The Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association is comprised of fifteen wineries, in alphabetical order: Baldacci Family Vineyards, Chimney Rock Winery, Cliff Lede Vineyards, Clos Du Val, Griffin Vineyards, Hartwell Vineyards, Ilsley Vineyards, Pine Ridge Winery, Regusci Winery, Shafer Vineyards, Silverado Vineyards, Robert Sinskey Vineyards, Stags’ Leap Winery, Steltzner Vineyards, and Taylor Family Vineyards.
