EXPLORING
PORTLAND, OREGON
A City of Neighborhoods
Portland, Oregon with a population of just over 500,000 has a
thriving downtown, bustling both day and night with businesses, restaurants,
hotels and museums. But to understand this booming Pacific Northwest, visitors
need to get into some of Portland's neighborhoods.
Nob Hill — Best thing to do: Get glamorous, shop, eat
This area, located in around 21st and 23rd Streets in Northwest Portland,
is home to many of Portland's more upscale galleries and shops-though the
pioneering spirit of this region makes for a good mix of funky, hip independently
owned stores as well.

EDITOR'S
PICK
Inn Style
No matter what pleasure you are pursuing in
Eugene, Oregon you will be well served if you find yourself staying at the
Campbell House Inn. The best kept
secret about Myra Plant's historic home, now Inn, is that she has a couple of
rooms in the $90 range. All of the luxury accommodations that are part of her
suites: great linens, fabulously comfortable beds, desks, robes, bathroom amenities
and a full breakfast are available for the lower priced rooms as well. Making this
absolutely the best $90 room I have ever found.
The Inn is rated 4 stars by AAA. The main house is fully restored and boasts rich colors,
gardens, and it is situated at the foot of Skinner's Butte Park with great views of Eugene.
It is also within walking distance to downtown Eugene as well. A not to miss feature is dinner
in their intimate dining room. You will find local fresh ingredients prepared exquisitely and
paired to Oregon wines. You can always choose to stay in one the sumptuous suites, but Myra is
thinking about pulling out the smaller, economical rooms to allow for spa services on site. If you
want luxury on a budget, book a cozy room at the Campbell House for your next stay in Eugene while
they are still available. (800) 264.2519

AEQUIS
SPA
Relax at This Portland, Oregon Spa
Bad thoughts and tense shoulders: Be gone!
The bliss–inducing environment of Aequis Spa melts away outside stresses,
aching muscles, bad bosses, speeding tickets and noisy kids like butter.
Using ancient Ayurvedic healing methods, treatments are individually designed to
improve everything from fatigue to detoxification of the body, wellness, healing massages and even a
female–centric "goddess" to enhance feminine energy. Using hot stones, one of the spa's signature
treatments is a massage that releases toxins and relaxes muscles by rubbing the heated marble stones
over the body. But despite the somewhat mystic spiritual component inherent in many of the treatments,
the spa offers simple Swedish, Lomi Lomi and Thai massage and renewing facials as well.
Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy Aequis' treatments, however —
most can take between two and four hours, though time passes quickly in the gentle environment
of the spa.
