We did Del Dotto cave tour last summer. Yes, you drink a lot of wine. Make sure to request Matt as your guide. Our 90 minute cave tour turned into 3 hours. Wonderful experience.

As a small family winery in Napa our suggestions reflect a desire to support exceptional people making outstanding wines.

Our top choices for a cave tour are

1) Buoncristiani - Tours by appointment only
$25/person 707-259-1681
A unique opportunity to get a personal tour from some of the best winemakers in the world. Beautiful caves, amazing wines, and charismatic hosts.

2) Jericho Canyon Vineyard - For serious wine
drinkers/buyers only - Advanced reservations required. Currently they are only selling one wine. 707.942.9665

These caves are off the beaten path but well worth it. The owners are two of the most sincere and pleasant people to be around. Furthermore, they farm and produce some of the best wines in the world.

If you are looking for a larger winery tour the following are the most popular cave tours:
Schramsberg - Good sparkling wine tour/tasting
Del Dotto - Entertaining and lots of wine served.
Jarvis - Extravagant

Hope this helps,

Hummm..no one? I am curious also as we are visiting in December with friends. We have been on the Rutherford tour and it was very enjoyable but are interested in some of the other tours that go into the caves.

We're trying to get in a cave tour during our stay in Napa - we have heard Rutherford's is really extensive. We have also heard that Clos Pegase has one as well as Jarvis and Del Dotto.
Any info on which might be better for a couple on a very tight schedule? thanks
