Hi Nick 1212,I know the jealous feeling. When I have to sit home and read about the trips of Damombo, Yesilovewine, Bigsemi, Cabgirl, etc. I get the same feeling. I see you are from Germany, are you native or a transpalnt? Thanks for chiming in. IP: 99.96.245.33 |

Well we are going back out in April, so spill the beans man.The one new place we went to a couple weeks ago was Swanson. We know the GM. Very nice tasting/food pairing. Good wine. They had a late Harvest Semillon, very different from your normal late harvest wines, not as syrupy, a lot brighter and citrus. Not cheap, but we got a bottle to savour for a while. And they have a really fun table red wine too, to go along with their others. If you go and do a tasting with Peter, tell him Eric and Amy say hi. IP: 70.242.122.183 |

Sounds like y'all are having a fantastic time! I guess this means that you are managing to get all of the group moving when it's time to hit the next reservation. Can't wait for the full trip report!IP: 96.8.187.200 |

Damombo,Hold on to your itinerary for a little while longer. I have some absolute "musts" for your visit, one where you even get a wine and food pairing FOR FREE. That is cheap at half the price. And the wines are absolutely superb. [This message has been edited by Hawkeye (edited 10-24-2010).] IP: 69.226.136.41 |

Hi Yesilovewine,Screaming Eagle may have been the wine that they were talking about across the table from us at a tasting on Thursday. I think they said it was $4500.00 PER BOTTLE. If you purchase a case, the owner will deliver it personally, along with some other wines to go with a dinner that will be prepared for 12 people in your home by his personal chef who will accompany him on the trip. My budget was one bottle short of getting the private dinner. ;-) IP: 69.226.136.41 |

Proud of their product, huh??? I am still wanting to meet anyone who has actually seen a bottle of Screaming Eagle, much less tasted it. There is just no way on this earth that a wine can be so good that it warrants a pricetag that could pay off my house, our cars and college tuition for our kids!!! I think our highest priced tasting ( and I didn't even get to be there.. it was a work event for Left Brain) was a Coppola Cabernet that was served at Rubicon Estate. The next was probably the '06 Alexander Valley Cabs we had at Ledson last visit. Glad you are finding some good ones...! Have fun.IP: 96.225.226.107 |

Us either! Today we ran into a place with a $495.00 bottle of cab. They said we could taste it if I gave them my credit card. IP: 69.226.136.41 |

I'm so glad that you are discovering new fabulous places for us to visit! Hey, my itinerary can be completely re-written for the best wine you've ever tasted! Heee heee - I cheated a bit: I saved that list you sent me and I bet I know the name of the place!!! But I won't spoil the surprise - besides, it's fun to tease yesilovewine oooooohhhhh that is mean! I should probably delete the last comments....IP: 96.8.187.200 |

Yesilovewine,Here is even a longer carrot! We visited a winery that I will bet none of you have heard of, tasted in the winery home, and they were probably the best wines from top to bottom of any we have ever tasted. You should be able to tell, if we tasted in the home, it is a small winery. It is very near Robert Biale, so damombo, save a spot for this winery. I will bet you will fill a case to ship home. They are at the end of crush and are frantically tryinh to get the last of the cab grapes picked. Rain is not helping, nor is it showing them down. Cold and rainy here, but that does not dampen our spirits . . . pun intended. [This message has been edited by Hawkeye (edited 10-23-2010).] IP: 69.226.136.41 |

We have completed a day and a half of our week long wine trip. Yesterday we had what was probably the best wine I ever taste and at $195.00 per bottle, it was the most expensive. To find out the name of the winery, come back to this Bulletin Board after we return home. The wine cave dinner at Hans Fahden winery was excellent and I would heartily recommend it, IP: 69.226.136.41 |
