I'm glad you had a wonderful dinner at La Toque. We must have gone on an off night... The sommelier was brilliant, and that was a high point of our visit. He was so knowledgable and perfectly happy to chat with us about each wine that he selected. We just didn't find the food all that impressive - like I said, perhaps an off night - most all of the reviews you read are fabulous, so we may have to give them another chance.

~Hill Family Estate..... Ryan Hill was a sweetheart, their tasting room is gorgeous, quaint and full of character, we really enjoyed their '06 Estate Cab and the '08 Clarke Vineyard Syrah

~hope and grace... very nice stuff, probably the only place we stopped at that had a Reisling, though most Reisling I find to be on the sweet side, theirs was not and I really enjoyed it, got a couple of bottles to have with our oldest daughter, she will really enjoy it. Of course the '04 Hendrick's Reserve Cab was very tasty as well as the '06 Cab

~Reynolds Family Winery, their 2006 Stags Leap District Reserve Cabernet is extraordinary, as well as the '03 Persistence, their wines were probably one of my favorite.

~Dinner at La Toque was exceptional, we chose to do the 4 dishes and wine pairing, I tell you now that we should have probably opted for the 3 course and that would have been plenty, but after we said that we were not sure which course we would have omitted, let's see... I had the warm lobster salad, the sweetbread, the cod and the striped bass, Don had the foie gras, the cod, the antelope, and the quail... ALL delicious, the wines were exceptional as well. La Toque did not disappoint us at all and we were glad that we made it our Valentine's Day Dinner <3
