Neither, actually.
It was held at a wine shop...a fundraiser for a nearby school.

fun! and yum - hazelnuts and caramel - a match made in heaven! Was this a small tasting at a restaurant? or a home?

We did get to go out on the lake this evening and this time we opened a Chateau Montelena 2008 Chardonnay. Decided that it was too acidic for our taste. Not as creamy as we like - lots of citrus and too tart. Probably would have been better with a meal and sharing between 4 or more people.

We attended a small tasting event last night and had a Pinot blanc that was pretty good. Pura Vida was the producer. I don't usually go for those, but this was pretty ok.
We finished with Penfolds Club Tawney- a port-style drink( can't call it a "Port" since its not from Portugal) that was quite delish...not too much alcohol but plenty of flavor. I bet you'd like that one as it made me think of Hazlenuts and caramel.

The lake was fabulous
We enjoyed a Francis Ford Coppola Reserve Chardonnay, 2009, Dutton Ranch, Russian River Valley, Sonoma County.
Creamy butterscotch, perfect for the lovely sunset... wish I could attach a picture - I'm not clever enough to figure that out tho.
It was very dreary and cloudy and misty this morning, but now the sun is coming out, so we may get to go out again this evening! Cheers!

Hi ya Yes. - nope, no Visa Signature thing available in Napa Valley (that I've ever heard of). We do generally ask as we walk into the tasting room about their policy on applying the tasting fee to a purchase. Some do, some don't.
Here is a link to the Napa "Downtown Wine Tasting Card"

Hey Y'll. I was reading through some of our Sonoma threads and noticed that over there we have the Visa Signature program. Just wondering, is there anything similar for Napa? And can someone talk about the tasting cards that I've read about on other sites?
