Damombo, I remember now that you said you loved to drive. One suggestion, if you are going to be in Yountville for a 6:00 dinner, why not take a few minutes before and stop in at Girard? I believe they are open until 7:00 PM, and a visit to the restroom there is worth the trip . . . I think they are fabulous . . . very modernistic.

Glad you enjoyed Jeff. Did he show you a picture of his son, Charlie? We will be doing a lunch with him in October for my group. Be sure and give him our regards. He is one of my most favorite people in the whole wine world.

Now all you have to do is wait until it is time to leave . . . and maybe change the itinerary a few times.

Hi Hawkeye - we do love to drive
We did meet Jeff in November and enjoyed it so much that we wanted to take our friend there. Farmstead is a restaurant that Jeff had suggested and it is wonderful - nearby in St. Helena. I've read good things about Hurleys, so I figured we'd give them a try. I'll let you know what we think!

Hi Damombo,
Looks like a great itinerary but you sure are going to do a lot of driving. Will be interested in your take on Hurley's for dinner. We have thought about it several times but have opted for Bistro Jeanty which is one of our favorites when staying in Yountville. Have not heard of the Farmstead Restaurant.

Haven't you done Chase before?

Look forward to seeing your Sonoma itinerary.

I did manage to fit in two of Hawkeye's newest discoveries - so it won't be a trip without new fun places to check out
