Received this disturbing news today from one of our Wine Club Vineyards
Please help us all Floridians and if you have the time, email these people
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*Do you ever feel like getting "political?"
We have just been alerted by the Wine Institute that the Direct Shipping Legislation is under attack (again!).
Please read the following letter and links and send your concerns to your representatives! Unfortunately, our ability to ship directly to you in Florida may end in weeks.
======================================================================================
This is directly from the Wine Institute and Free the Grapes:
"Your ability to order wine directly from the winery of your choice is under serious attack in the Florida legislature. If you don't act now, your freedom to buy directly may end in a matter of weeks. We are asking you to contact ALL of the following people:"
Mike Haridopolos (Senate President) at (850) 487-5056 and/or mike@senatormike.com or haridopolos.mike.web@flsenate.gov
Dean Cannon (Speaker of the House) at (850) 488-2742
Joe Negron (Senate bill sponsor) at (850) 487-5088 and/or negron.joe.web@flsenate.gov
Chris Dorworth (House bill sponsor) at (850) 488-5843 and/or chris.dorworth@myfloridahouse.gov
Your own legislator (House member may found at http://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sections/Representatives/representatives.aspx by clicking on "Find Your Representative" tab.)
Your own Senator (Senator may be found at http://www.flsenate.gov/Senators/Find )
We suggest that you use the following wording to send the message to your representatives:
I am greatly disturbed to learn that the legislature is even considering the idea of limiting the freedom that I have to order wine from the winery of my choice. The giant wholesalers in this state do not need your protection - my economic freedom does! I certainly expect you to act in a way that expands the people's freedom, not contracts it. Oppose HB 837 and SB 854.
