Hey Damamobo and Hawkeye- glad to see you.
Damambo- how is the hubster doing?
Hawkeye, looking forward to your report...we art trying to plan a trip for the spring and MAY include Napa this time as I have some places that interest me lately.
I'm especially thinking around Calistoga, but also want to go to Silver Oak and see the new facility.

Hi Rainment,

If you check the different winery web sites, Most will tell you that they are closed on the major holidays including New Years. I don't know about the restaurants, but if you know what you want to eat New Years, email or call the restaurants to see if they are open.

Have a great trip . . . we just returned from 7 days in Napa and the weather was glorious.

We've stayed in Napa Valley/Sonoma County twice now during that time frame. It was just great - nothing was closed and we did everything we wanted. We did fly home on New Year's Eve morning, so I can't tell you about New Year's Eve or New Year's Day...

We are considering moving our yearly trip to Napa/Sonoma from early December to instead begin immediately following Christmas and staying until January 2. Will we have plenty to see/eat/drink? Does the valley shut down over New Year's? We would appreciate any thoughts the board can provide!
