Scooter,
We are definitely of the "unoaked Chardonnay" persuasion, and I would highly recommend that you try Mahoney's Albarino as a good alternate. Their tasting room seems to be in the Oxbow mkt.

I can think of three sparkling wine producers: Domaine Carneros, Domaine Chandon, and Mumm. Of those three, only Mumm has a somewhat unoaked Chardonnay (they say it has a "hint" of oak). I've been looking at some of my favorite places, but most use oak for their Chard. Domaine Carneros has a gorgeous estate and the outside tasting is lovely. Domaine Chandon has beautiful grounds. I've not been to Mumm.

Robert Mondavi's Chardonnay might be slightly less oaky than some - reading their tasting notes makes it sound like it. They also have a great tour if you are interested...

Pride Mountain is indeed beautiful, as is the drive up Spring Mountain to get there. We have also enjoyed visits to Schweiger, Keenan and Terra Valentine along that road. Google "Spring Mountain District" and you'll find a website with all of the wineries listed. It will give you info about each and usually their websites - so you can check out their wines and their appointment policies. If you decide to spend a day on Spring Mountain, bring a picnic lunch and see who might let you picnic on their property - we've picnicked at Keenan and Pride and it was wonderful!

Have a great visit!

Husband and I are spending this Fri, Sat in San Francisco then heading to Napa Valley on Sunday departing on Wed. morning. Will be staying in San Fran on Tues night near the airport. We will be staying at the Hilton Garden Inn in Napa. I am strictly a white wine drinker, preferably Chardonnay. Prefer unoaked! Husband drinks both Chardonnay and some reds. He loves Champagne! Recommendations please. Pride Mountain Vineyards sounds beautiful. Thanks in advance.
