This trip ended up being more of an all around vacation than just strictly wine tasting. We only visited 2-3 wineries a day, spending more time walking/shopping around the various towns, relaxing in our B&B drinking wine, visiting with my sister and brother in law, and running a ½ marathon. The weather was absolutely gorgeous – sunny and in the mid 80’s during the day, and morning lows around 50. Since it was so warm, we were actually more into crisp whites and roses, rather than our usual Cabs and Zins (and the other couple travelling with us prefers whites).

The B&B we stayed at, the Craftsman Inn, was great. The breakfasts were fantastic, Nick and Gillian were great hosts, we met some new friends, and it was only a few blocks to downtown Calistoga. We would definitely recommend it for someone looking for a B&B in Calistoga.
Day 1

We flew into SFO and made our way to Girard. Had a private tasting in the back room. Enjoyed all the wines (Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet, Artistry, and Old Vine Zin). Brought home a bottle of the Zin.

Made a brief stop at Clif Family Winery and met up with my sister and brother in law. It was getting near closing time, so we ended up not tasting and going straight to our B&B, the Craftsman Inn, in Calistoga, especially since we were running a ½ marathon in the morning.

We had reservations at Barolo, but wanted to go to Boskos. We stopped at Boskos on the way to Barolo, and since it was only about a 10 minute wait, we ended up eating at Boskos. All of us enjoyed our meals, the service was good, and the price was reasonable.
