It looks like you are already in Napa according to your dates. I would pick up a copy of Wine Country Today and Preiser Key. Both have good maps in them and both are free.

Since you are already in the Napa Valley, I would spend one day in Yountville going to the tasting rooms there, all within walking distance. Some are Cornerstone, Hope & Grace, Jessup, Girard, and a host of others. Our favorite lunch spot there is Pacific Blues Cafe. You can also have dinner there at one of the excellent restaurants. Bistro Jeanty is one of our favorites. None of these tasting rooms require an appointment.

Some other places you may want to consider. If you can get in to Hall Rutherford (not Hall St. Helena) do so. They have a very unique cave tasting room with an elaborate Swarsky (SP?) crystal chandelier. Excellent Cabs.

I would suggest that you contact Scotti Stark at
1104 Adams Street
Suite 103
St. Helena, CA 94574
[](707) 628-7600
and ask him to taste at Phifer Pavitt and Charnu. Both unique tasting venues. Appointment needed. Tell him Lee from Tennessee recommended him to you and he will take good care of you. Have lunch in St. Helena.

Call Chase Family Vineyard 707-963-1284 on the south end of St. Helena where you will taste among 1200 year old vines. Some great Zins. Appointment needed. Tell them I sent you.

The rest, I would suggest that you just pick some and walk in.

Have a great trip.

Well howdy and whoa! Are you in Napa right now, or on your way?
If you are already there - take a look over the last several posts about Napa and you will find a number of excellent suggestions of great wineries to visit. Or check with the front desk of wherever you are staying and ask for any tasting coupons they might have. And perhaps check over at TripAdvisor.com - look at the Napa Valley forums for ideas of places to visit. Good luck!
