Hi Bigsemi,

I am envious, we will not get to make a trip this year so will have to live through you all.

Looks like a very aggressive itinerary. I think leaving time for "walk ins" is important. If you see something that interests you, you do not have to pass it by, just go in and check it out. Even if they are open by appointment only, sometimes they have nothing going on and will let you in.

Please tell us about the parties when you return. Most of my wine clubs are the smaller wineries and don't have the big parties.

Have a great trip. I, too, would be interested in the house you rent.

You are the party animal, bigsemi! I love that y'all manage to get to Napa for the parties at your membership wineries. We've only done that twice - and it was such fun to get to participate in an event.
We've never visited Reverie, Razi, Bell, or Sciandri - so I look forward to your comments when you get back. Also, care to share info on the place you are staying in Calistoga?

Cheers to you and your teaching career! Many years ago, I started out as an Elementary Ed major, only to discover that I would be a lousy teacher but an excellent playmate. So major was changed... but I was the Cub Scout leader and Brownie leader And now my friends just love to play at my place because, you know, the wine....

The wife and I have got a short trip coming up the end of the month.

26- Reverie, and Hot Havana Nights Party at the Castle

27- Razi, Domaine Carneros, Bell, Festa Italiana Party at V.Sattui

28- Robert Sinsky, Sciandri

29- home

We are heading out with my older brother, who has come on a couple trips with us now, and my nephew and his girlfriend, their first trip out. Hitting a bunch of our favorites, most of which have a big variety for the kids and their newby pallets . And have some open space for impromptu stops.

We are renting a house up in Calistoga, so it will be a nice get away for a few days. Hope everyone is enjoying the summer. I've got 2 more weeks of teaching summer school, then I'll be free for about 3 weeks, before heading back to start a new school year.

All times are ET (US)
