Hi Mark, and welcome to the boards!

I checked out your website - guess I'm outta luck since we live in Texas and y'all don't ship here....

But I read your blog and have now decided we will be visiting the Family Wineries Dry Creek Cooperative Tasting Room. Sounds like a great stop!

And I'll be checking out the deals you mentioned - Thanks!

Aratas is an interesting visit, they do a really nice job at Petite Sirah. Especially on the high end, there really aren't many other wineries that compare in terms of quality or the small scale they work on (their highest end bottling was something under 40 cases last year.)

It'd be a nice break from the standard Chard/Cabernet Napa offerings.

Damombo,

Sorry, we haven't been to either of these.

I wondered who would be the first to break silence on this Board.

I came across a card I had been given a couple of years ago - for Aratas winery. I was outside of the Soda Canyon Grocery waiting for my group, chatting with a guy who had a cute dog with him, and he gave me his card. He was the winemaker (and still is). I'd forgotten about it until I came across his card yesterday. Looks like they specialize in Petite Sirah, and we enjoy Petite Sirah, so I guess we should plan on a visit this October!

The other winery I'm interested in is Amizetta. A local restaurant is having a wine and food pairing featuring Amizetta's wine, but we aren't going to be able to go.

Anyone have any info on either of these?
