Locals is a great place to learn about some of the finest wines, who makes them, how and why you should care. Best to go on weekdays. Head out the front door and over the newly built bridge that crosses the Russian River and you will be in the Alexander Valley, home of blissful full-bodied wines.

Also, almost next door is a fabulous modestly priced Northern Italian restaurant Santi. You can bring your own wine.

Carolyn,

I came into Locals with my inlaws this past Wednesday - you might remember us as the rather energetic group who blazed through a lot of Cranes Canyon and Peterson. We walked out with over two cases of wine. I must say, we had a spectacular time - it was the highlight of our winetasting adventures. For me, being from Boston and sadly underexposed to winetasting, I was particularly impressed because I often try to move through as many winery tasting rooms as I can in a visit. Yet, the experience at Locals was sooooo much more relaxing, informative, and personal - not to mention that your sense of quality control is outstanding! I brought six bottles home with me, and already shared a Crane's Canyon Mourvedre with my wife, which was ridiculously wonderful. Thank you so much for such a positive experience - we really loved it and will most definitely be coming back as long as you're around!

LOCALS is awesome. I got some really great wine there. Martin zins are incredible! Very knowledgable staff. Flight tastings are a great idea. A great afternoon!

Will go back for sure.

Locals is the best wine tasting room in California! Not only do you get to taste wine from some small and much better than average quality vineyards (wines that you can't find very many other places) but the people who run the place are just too cool for words!

Great place. Knowledgable people. The Dry Creek/Russian river area produces some great Pinots, and this is certainly the place to taste some of the better ones.

I loved the Hawley Vineyards Pinot Noir and thought the Peterson Winery Sangiovese was good too. Excellent Hor’dourves, fun atmosphere, pull over and have a taste if near Geyserville. It is right on the main road, you shouldn't miss it.
