Hi Hawkeye.
I don't know why this still places me in the west coast time zone, but I promise that I am rarely up at 5:30 these days!
I remembered that you are not as enamored of the Maple Zins as I am, but this new one from Bella isn't from the Maple vineyards. This one is from the ROckpile AVA, which I think you said is one of your favorite sources for zins, didn't you? I thought we had discussed the attributes of Rockpile some time ago...my faves before we had the Maples.

Hi Yes,

When I see and entry at 5:30 AM, I almost know it is you. I am glad that I am not awake at that time.

I received an email from Mozzacco yesterday stating that their 2009 Maple Zinfandel won a best in class. I have had three Maple zins, one from the Maples own label, and two from Armida, including the Tina's Block. I can honestly say that I would not purchase a one of them again.

Things have been slow on these Boards lately. Guess we don't have a lot to say on these dreary days.

Bella is now offering a Rockpile Zin!!!
We just received notice of this release last night. Its their first Rockpile appellation offering.
Only 200 cases produced, availability is extremely limited and first chance goes to wine club members, but if you are going out there soon I would highly recommend trying this one.
