Well I'm usually pretty good with the lists, but that day was a little crazy so it probably blew out of the tote....
You really should think about that event, D'. I know you'd love it. Tickets go on sale in the fall, I think.

oohhhh that would be a fun trip - Charleston for a wine event! I've never been to Charleston!

Gosh, Yes, you gotta be more careful with those lists! I know what you mean, though. I lose them all the time, but sometimes I come across them several years later

The drive from the Sonoma side to Pride is gorgeous. We have gone the other direction. I had us leaving Napa for Sonoma that way - tasted our way up Spring Mountain and then down over to Healdsburg. I can't get enough of the winding mountain roads and the views.

We have actually discovered a restaurant a bit north of Houston that is hosting some terrific wine dinners. The one we went to was wonderful and the chef was creative, but not too over the top for my peasant tastes Yeah, not sure I would be thrilled with baby octopus - mosaic or otherwise...

Well I would love to D', but I can't find my "menu" from that event. Rats!!! It was cool- a cruise around Charleston Harbor that had several wine vendors ( I think there were 6 tables for wine purveyors) and included a wonderful tapas style lunch buffet.
Some of those Sonoma wines were offered through a distributor, and I can't find that sheet. sorry
The Sonoma participants which I already knew, that participated in some aspect of the Festival were Hook and Ladder, Merry Edwards, Alexander Valley Vineyards. Pride, Honig, Rutherford Hill and one other Napa place I'd heard of were also there. And then there were the European wines which I have to say were a big surprise at both affordability and flavor. I didn't know that we had a palate for those, but we found several that we would buy if we could find them.
Our Pride event was a wine dinner and I have to say that even though the food was waaaay beyond my comfort zone ( Baby Octopus Mosaic and Veal Marrow served in the bone! ) our host from Pride was a real gem...he was hammered by the end of the night, and all I can say is that I would have loved to have been seated at his table because they got a couple special bottles that weren't offered to the rest of us. They were really nice wines, though. And it turns out that you can get to that winery from Sonoma! Who knew??
---guess you and the hubster will just have to plan to attend the Charleston Food and Wine Festival next March and see who shows up then! Its a terrific adventure and a foodie like you would especially enjoy the wine dinners and pairing events.

Well spill it! What were the 5??

We are going with a group at the end of May and spending two days in Sonoma County and two in Napa Valley. And then, hopefully, the hubs and I will have our private trip in the fall - so new ideas are always welcome.

Which also means we have to start drinking some of the wines we've been gathering - no room left for new stuff unless we make an effort to clear some space! As they say, It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it

Well D', that is very kind, but as I've told y'all before you give me way too much credit.
In Charleston last month I learned of at least 5 Sonoma wineries that I'd never heard of or read about!!!!
I'm not afraid to talk about what (little) I know, but I really don't know that much. But thanks...
