OK.. I changed my mind. The burgers at Silverado have changed as of late and service seems spotty. The bun has changed and the hamburger seems to be smaller. I am moving my all time Napa favorite Hamburger place designation (obsession)over to Boonfly Cafe (followed by Taylor's).IP: 206.81.102.47 |

My favorite is the Kobe beef burger on the bar menu at Press Steakhouse in St Helena. It is truly awesome - the best burger I've had in napa, and deserving of a glass of wine to accompany it. My second favorite is at Cooks, accompanied by their 7-up in a bottle, also in St helena. IP: 24.7.46.182 |

Foster Freeze on Imola just west of the bridge has outstanding burgers. IP: 209.76.104.253 |

Tried Kelley's No Bad Days Cafe hamburger last night. Incredibly overdone for medium. Did not even compare to Silverado Grille. Also tried Don Giovanni's... again Siverado is yet to be beat in my book! IP: 206.81.102.47 |

ANDIE's is the best bargin and taste-dont let the car wash location fool you -just like grandma's burger, juicy, fresh and with what-ever you want on it! Oh turkey tacos are a hit too..IP: 67.101.148.70 |

Try the burger at Mustards sometime. I was happily munching my (now forgotten) entree while my late boyfriend (who often ordered hamburgers) was chowing down this particular item with great relish. I was pleased with my meal, but he was obviously a _very_ happy diner. "I can't remember a hamburger this good". When I finally tried a taste (when he finally gave up a taste), I had to agree . It WAS the best hamburger _I'd_ had in memory. It's made with Niman Ranch beef and "tastes like beef used to". Try to go sometime when it's not so crazy crowded and enjoy. IP: 4.246.69.80 |

Angele' is wonderful, Taylors delicious and expensive, but Silverado is better for the simplicity of dining service and price. The Martini House bar has great burger too. Wenesday nights are an opportunity for a dicount rate for Silverado also. We will try Don Giovani's next as I read they are not to be missed.IP: 206.81.102.91 |

Big D's burgers on Silverado Trail are my current favorite. It can be a little excessively "blue collar" if you're used to the Taylor's crowd, but I think the burgers may even surpass Red Rock.IP: 209.78.56.73 |

Downtown Joe's in Napa on the river has HUGH good burgers. Nice to have an in house brew pub with them. Ace High Ale goes well with the burger.IP: 69.15.31.1 |

I have to say after living in the valley for three years now and sampling all burger recommendations the best so far and by far has been at Angele in the old Hatt building in downtown. Not only is it always properly prepared(they will even cook it to rare if you so desire, very French!!) but it comes with fresh accompaniments and the best fries!! The bun is an awesome potato bun toasted in butter and the patty a whopping 9-10oz of meat, and basted in it's own fat!! Hey if you're going to do it go big!!!IP: 67.164.23.242 |

I'd say Market in St. Helena has awesome burgers. They use great meat and add spices and such to their patties. two thumbs up.IP: 66.134.205.34 |

Thanks for the feedback - Red Rock has been a steady for years but grew tired of it as of late until we figured out to ask for whole lettuce leaves instead of the shredded - makes it better! Have you had the "Wisconsin Burger" at Taylors? 'Makes your arteries clog just by looking at it! Cheers!IP: 66.123.196.211 |

Two more suggestions:The Grill at Silverado Resort. I know several locals who swear by Peter's burgers and they love to order them in the bar. While the Boon Fly Cafe at The Carneros Inn gets mixed reviews their hamburgers never do - people love them. IP: 209.76.104.175 |

The one near the outlet mall is Andie's Cafe. You should also try Red Rock on Lincoln and Main in Napa - wonderful burgers. Both are tiny places, but worth it if you have to wait!IP: 209.76.104.175 |

Ok, we all love Taylor's in St. Helena, and sheep that we are, we fork over our $10.00 w/o blinking, but as we are all knights on our quest for the ultimate burger, does anyone have a fav' out there apart from the fast food gang? I've heard from the in-burger-crowd that the lil' eatery/coffee/ carwash/snack-bar off first street near the outlets has a purty' good one. IP: 68.126.186.218 |
