Sorry that I did not get to check out some of your hamburger places. I do disagree with you on Taylor's refresher. About the only thing I like there is their chocolate shake.

One night we ate at the Rutherford Grill. I know it is not exotic, but the ribs are outstanding and the corn bred is to die for. They do not take reservations so you just stand in line and wait, but the wait is worthwhile.

One night we ate at barolo in Calistoga. It used to be barVino but since they received their liquor license is was no longer just Vino, thus the name change. Still great spaghetti and meatballs.

Another good restaurant in Calistoga is Bosco's. Just good Italian food, pasta and pizza.

We did have lunch one day at Tra Vigne Pizza in St. Helena. I thought it was okay, but nothing special.

I recently had someone ask me about good burgers in Napa that won't break the bank. For those of you interested, below were a couple of my suggestions:

Norman Rose Tavern
Burger runs you about $9.95 with basic fixings. $2.00 extra for fancy stuff like mushrooms, bacon, avocado, etc. The burger was soooo good! Quality meat, nice size. Definitely try this place.

Taylor's Refresher
Most are familiar with the St. Helena spot. But they opened up a location next to Oxbow Market. Over the years I'm not really a fan of Taylor's anymore. Burgers are just okay, but reasonably priced.

Makes a pretty good burger, runs you about $12. Medium Rare for them is pretty rare, so if you like yours on the more done side, I would say "well done" to get medium.

Boon Fly Cafe
Not exactly Napa Downtown, as it's located on Hwy 12. But they claim to make one of the best Kobe Beef Burgers.

Anyone else know of good burgers in Napa?
