It is hard to beat the BBQ ribs and corn bread at the Rutherford Grill . . . and I am a southerner. Hard to get into, they don't take reservations and it is always packed.

The butcher shop behind the Flora Springs tasting room and next door to Dean and Deluca has lunch on Wednesday -- alternating each week between chicken and baby back ribs. The ribs were great and went well with the Flora Springs flight of wines.

Thanks iwinedaily for the stellar recommendation. Just wanted to add that we now are pouring Whiskey! We have hand picked some of the finest Bourbon and Rye Whiskey Kentucky has to offer as well as a selection of very rare Single Malts from Scotland.

Cheers

The best place I've found for BBQ in Napa is the Bounty Hunter on 1st Street. They have seriously smokey, delicious meats--even offer a plate with a little pile of each kind on their sampler platter. I also love the beer can chicken. Definitely a place to go if you're craving southern bbq in the valley. Also, I have to mention the extensive (pages and pages)wine list and microbrews on tap. Getting hungry just writing this....

Not sure about Napa proper but up in Calistoga there is a place called 'Buster's Southern BBQ' I kept hearing about this place and finally had to try it out! Hole in the wall... well yes... Food good-nuff that we ate then ordered more to take home with us. One of my new fav spots throughout the month.

Hi Cabgirl,
I don't know about good old down home pulled pork BBQ in Napa if that is what you are looking for. Here in Tennessee, those places are usually little holes in the wall and the BBQ is soooo good. However, if you are looking for BBQ ribs, the Yountville Grill has as good as I have eaten. Pair that with their homemade corn bread and a bottle of Zinfandel, it is about as good as it gets. Guess I will have to keep an eye out for BBQ.

I had a friend recently ask me where to find some really good barbecue in Napa Valley. What's sad is that all I could think of was one place. Barbers Q. I like them, but I wouldn't classify it as the best bbq I've tasted and they tend to be a little gourmet. Nothing wrong with gourmet, it just doesn't bring back memories of the "down home, finger licking, out of this world barbecue" that my Dad used to make.

So...any barbecue places in Napa Valley that fit the description above?
