I have too many to count, and sad to say I've just added another to my list - Bistro Jeanty! For a long time (3 years) I had sworn off the place. I had gone twice and was less than impressed despite so-called ravings of others. I was cajoled into going the other weekend though and then returned again in less than a week to try other dishes!
Had the mussels - oh wow. So delicious, the sauce that the mussels sit is is just so buttery good! And I don't even like mussels, well I didn't before this...
Also had the sole with a butter lemon sauce atop mashed potatoes. Also a good dish. Fish was flaky (though i was the fillet was bigger) and the potatoes I could eat all day every day.
Tried other folks entrees - pork shoulder. Just falls apart as soon as you touch the fork to it. Lined with fat, but hey - you have to indulge sometimes right? It was served atop a butternut squash gratin. Nice combo. Didn't care for the brussel sprouts, but to each their own. Oh and also tried this beef stew of sorts. The meat was very tender. Liked the dish but not my favorite.
If you're in Yountville, definitely stop by this French restaurant for lunch or dinner. Good to make reservations. Oh, and before I forget - have to order their signature tomato puff soup. Beyond yum...
Can't leave without shouting out my other favorites in town - Ad Hoc, Bouchon, Hurleys!
