Thanks for the idea, cabgirl.
We just got back so you know what the weather was like...great for ducks, not so much people.
We did go by Cornerstone, though and I think it may offer some great ideas. By the way, three different winries recommended we go to try Keating while we were in the area, so if you get to Cornerstone you may want to stop in. It seems there are 2 wine tasting rooms at Cornerstone now...the other was Meadow...something. Bummer. I hate when i forget names.
We saw some great potential scenic shots from around the upper Westside Road area; views from the patio at Everett Ridge and Armida would have been beautiful without rain.
Also, did you know that one of the owners at Hawley uses falconry to keep birds off his grapes? I think I read something about demonstrations ( great photo ops, I would think) occasionally being given out at the farm. It might be worth looking into.

Hmmm...I just got a new camera too! Needed to upgrade for my most recent trip to Italy and Spain

Although I have yet to try what I'm suggesting, I've seen some very cool pictures taken at this place with their GIGANTIC blue chair - Cornerstone Sonoma. They also have some interesting things within their gardens that I think would make for nice photo opps. Let me know if you make it over there.

I'll have to rack my brain for some other ideas. I usually just end up taking pictures of whatever happens to catch my fancy...

I'm a newbie with a camera and would like to get ideas for some great photo ops that don't require a lot of expertise. I have an inexpensive digital with autofocus, so its gotta be easy...
Interests include architectural features, rural spaces, farmland- especially old buildings, birds and vineyard dogs.
