Hey Gang,
I am reading through the events calendar at Wine Country and wanted to point out that there are some REALLY nice events coming up that may appeal to those of you planning an April swing into Sonoma County.
Be sure to check out the entire calendar, but just to note:
Between April 1 and 3rd there are several winery specific events including a presentation by Evan Goldstein at J Vineyard ( He is one of the very few "Master Sommeliers), and a winemaker dinner at Porter Creek. Also, Pick of the Vine will once again be held in Santa Rosa and Olivet Road wineries are having an "open house" type event similar to those in areas of the county.
April 9th, Seghesio is hosting a Riedel Glass seminar that is well priced under $100 and you get to keep a set of 4 Riedels.
April 16 Kunde is offering a blending seminar and Matanzas Creek is having an event that will celebrate their new Sauvingon Blanc and offers some spa events including chair massages and introductions into their lavender procucts.
On the 17th Green Valley will celebrate Earth Day with an event at Iron Horse that features Ted Turner as the keynote speaker as well as a "walk around" tasting.
Lots of great things coming up....and that is just the first half of the month !
At the end of the month will be Passport to Dry Creek weekend. If you aren't familiar with that event, you MUST have tickets to visit any of the participating wineries ( which is most of them in Dry Creek), so if you don't have tickets, have a back-up plan to visit another part of Sonoma county.
