We dined at Carneros this past March and loved our experience there. Fresh food, friendly service and I loved the garden in the back of the restaurant. ![]() IP: 71.132.81.34 |

I do not know what a "bistro" theme is I guess, but I found this to be a very nice restaurant for dinner. My wife and I ate there on Thursday Aug 11 with another couple. The mussels were excellent as a started, the special of the evening was short ribs that were very tender and my wife had the pork roast - also very good, although not really what was expected. The wine list as you may expect was extensive with a number of half bottles offered. The waiter was good - especially with his knowledge of the wine list. (His suggestion of Mayo wines were very good and very reasonable) The service was OK, not great - occassionally we felt ignored...we sat down at 7:30 and did not get up until after 10:30 and for some reason were never offered desert or coffee until we asked for it. (Plus, when the waiter dropped a knife on a water glass, sending pieces of glass and water onto the table and my friends' wife's lap, you would think they would at least be a littel extra attentive. We had to suggest that they remove the table cloth before we continued with our meal.) Dinner (appetizers, entrees and dessert) for 4 with 2 botles of wine totaled $280. I would give the food an A-, the service a B-. Not the best meal I had in Sonoma (I had some great ones - see review of Cuccina Rustica) but an enjoyable evening. IP: 144.42.9.100 |

Carneros exceeded my expectations. Most of the reviews on here are from 2004. I urge anyone to try again as the service was excellent, the menu was full of wonderful choices, the food itself was delicious and presentation that of a five star restaurant. They have changed to a bistro theme and I think it suits them well. Enjoy! ![]() IP: 12.125.81.26 |

I'm trying Carneros for lunch next month. I can't wait to try it and tour the Lodge. We will be staying at the Sonoma Mission Inn, which I adore. ![]() IP: 198.81.26.76 |

Having dined for both dinner and breakfast. There was one common thread. Excellent food, but poor service. IP: 24.25.223.7 |

Great Restaurant. Have stayed at the Lodge at Sonoma several times and the restaurant is wonderful for breakfast (great scones), lunch, and dinner. Try whatever their creative chef is making. They also have a good wine list representaitve of Sonoma. On a scale of 1-10, I give them a 9. IP: 24.5.230.207 |

I have eaten there for both lunch and dinner and it has always been fabulous. Sometimes we just go for wine or cocktails in the bar and have the oysters 3 ways which is 12 oysters done 3 ways...incredible! IP: 64.139.7.75 |

My wife and I ate here last summer while staying at the lodge. We had planned to eat at as many restaurants as possible while in Sonoma, but my steak was so good that we went back two nights later so that my wife could also enjoy one. IP: 198.81.26.76 |
