Yes,

Thanks for chiming in. I took it to mean the town of Sonoma. They could start by looking up restaurants in Sonoma on Trip Advisor which will also give them a rating. I still think the best bet is to call some direct.

We have eaten at The Girl and the Fig and The El Dorado Kitchen ranked 7 and 6 and both were excellent.

Have a great anniversary and many, many more.

Hello Len, and Hi Hawkeye...I appreciate your having called me an expert, but I promise I only know a little about Sonoma. I make up for lack of knowledge with GREAT enthusiasm, though
Len, first, are you meaning the actual town of Sonoma, or Sonoma County in general? It could make a difference.
I believe that Hawkeye is correct in saying that there is a list posted somewhere that tells who will be open - you may look through the winecountry.com archive, or it may be that tripadvisor has addressed that. Another place you could look is SonomaCounty.com since that is one of the publications that deals with the entire county. From Memory, here are a few restaurants that I know of which are not connected to a hotel or B&B and are likely to be open:
Lucas Wharf in Bodega Bay
Ca'Bianca in Santa Rosa
Jack and Tony's in Santa Rosa
Flavor Bistro in Santa Rosa
girl and fig in Sonoma
Rivers End in Jenner

Restaurants that are in hotels but seem to offer experiences that are "outside the norm" are:
Farmhouse Inn in Forestville
Applewood Inn in Guerneville
John Ash and Co. at the Vintner's Inn in Santa Rosa
Madrona Manor
Sante at the Fairmont in Sonoma
Depot at Depot Hotel in Sonoma

Perhaps this will at least give you a starting point...

Lynn,

Sorry you are not getting any responses. I am by no means an expert on Sonoma. Yesilovewine is the Sonoma expert. I believe the restaurants announce later in the year whether they will be open or not. I guess the other option is to pick 2 or 3 possibilities and call them. In Sonoma, I would guess your best bet is a hotel restaurant.

Greeting
We are flying in for our anniversary to Sonoma in December. Does anyone know if there are non-hotel restaurants open in the area on Christmas eve? (Healdsburg, Santa Rosa..) Thanks.
