1. What kind of information does WineCountry.com collect about you?

a. User ID
Whenever you use the WineCountry.com Site, we assign a unique number to your computer (“User ID”). The User ID is linked to information about your use of the Site generally, including the searches you perform and the times you choose to click on, and purchase, items searched. The User ID you are assigned is not linked to any personal information and you remain anonymous to the WineCountry.com Site.

b. Server Logs
If you access and use the Site our Web server collects and logs certain standard information about your visit, like the pages you view, the links you click on, and other actions you take when using the Site. We also collect and log certain standard information that your browser communicates to every Web site you visit such as your IP address, the type of browser you are using, and the Web site you came from when you linked to the WineCountry.com Web site.

c. Cookies
“Cookies” are small files of data that reside on your computer and allow us to recognize you as a user of the Site if you return to the WineCountry.com Web site using the same computer and browser. WineCountry.com uses cookies in several ways. A user ID cookie will be used to track your use of the Site. This cookie is persistent and will remain with your browser unless you clear your saved cookies. We place other cookies on your computer to track your use of the Site, and to ensure that any information delivered is relevant to you. WineCountry.com has relationships with third-parties who serve the advertisements you see when you visit our Site. These companies may use certain information about your visit to the Site in order to provide advertisements about goods and other Sites that may be of interest to you. The information used in this process is not personally-identifiable to our ad server. In the course of serving ads on our Site, these third-parties may place or recognize a unique “cookie” on your browser.

d. Itinerary and Transaction Information
We also collect information that you input as part of performing searches using the Site. When you choose to purchase a product or service after learning about the product on the Site, in some cases the Site may  automatically redirect you to the Web site of the relevant supplier, who will collect and process your payment details. We monitor your activity on the supplier's Web site and we may collect information about your booking or purchased item (such as name, dates of travel, products or services purchased, travel origination and destination, and payment information; but not credit card information). This information will be linked to your user ID. YOU SHOULD READ THE PRIVACY POLICIES ON EACH SUPPLIER'S WEB SITE YOU ACCESS. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR USE OF THE PERSONAL INFORMATION YOU SUPPLY TO THEM.

In some cases, however, WineCountry.com will collect the payment information, including credit card numbers, from you on behalf of the relevant supplier and pass this information on to the supplier so you can book the reservation. WineCountry.com uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and/or TLS (Transport Layer Security) or other secure encryption when transmitting any and all payment information from WineCountry.com to suppliers via the Internet. Anytime you submit credit card information to WineCountry.com it will be SSL or TLS encrypted. Other than the transmission of your credit card information to the travel provider with which you are booking your reservation and/or to the payment processing gateway, WineCountry.com does not use your credit card number and does not retain or share your card number with anyone.

e. Customer Support Information
If you correspond with us in any manner and for any purpose (e.g. e-mails to customer support), we retain such information in order to evaluate and improve our Site and quality of customer support.

f. Personal Information You Submit
You are always able to use the WineCountry.com Site without providing us with any personally identifable information.

2. How will the information that WineCountry.com collects be used?
We use the information that we collect from you in order to:

• provide you with our Site including, without limitation, to personalize and customize the information that we display to you;

• improve the Site and to develop new products and Sites that would interest you;

• activate searches on your behalf and to facilitate transactions on your behalf;  

• ensure that we are compensated by our partners;  

• contact you;  

• conduct research; and  

• generate anonymous reports for internal use and for our external partners.  

We also use this information in aggregate form to better understand what purchases users want to make and help provide better offers and a more effective Site. We may also develop aggregate - but not individual - reports for our partners. An example of a summary report might be “500 users booked exclusive experiences to a specific destination during the month of November.”

3. With whom does WineCountry.com share the information it collects about you?
WineCountry.com does not rent, sell, disclose or share your personal information with any third parties, except in the following limited circumstances:

a. When we have your consent. 

b. We provide certain information that we collect to merchants from whom you purchase products and services and travel suppliers with whom you decide to book your travel in order to facilitate your purchases. They will use it to complete your purchases, provide services, book your reservations and process payments (which may involve your information being processed by third parties involved in the payment authentication process). WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR USE OF YOUR DATA BY ANY MERCHANT, TRAVEL PROVIDER OR ANY SUCH THIRD PARTIES.

c. We disclose information when required by law or judicial authority (e.g. to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to protect our legal rights or defend against legal claims). 

d. We may access and/or disclose your personal information if we believe such action is necessary to:i (i) comply with the law or legal process; (ii) protect and defend the rights or property of WineCountry.com (including the enforcement of our agreements); or (iii) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of our users or members of the public.

e. We disclose such information in order to enforce or investigate potential violations of our Terms of Site, or to prevent or take action regarding illegal activities.

f. If WineCountry.com is ever merged with another company, or if WineCountry.com buys, sells or reorganizes some or all part(s) of its business, parties involved in such a transaction would gain access to the information that WineCountry.com has collected over time. Such third parties would be required, however, to adhere to the provisions of this Privacy Policy until such time as it was amended in accordance with the process for modification set forth herein.

g. We share trend and aggregate information with our partners for business purposes and with other third parties for marketing purposes. We might disclose, for example, that a certain percentage of our users list their home airport as San Francisco. However, this aggregated information is in no way traceable to any specific personal information.

4. What are the opt-out choices WineCountry.com provides you with regarding the collection, use, and distribution of your information?
If you choose to provide personal information to WineCountry.com, you may change or delete your preferences at anytime.

If you signed up to received any of the WineCountry.com e-mail newsletters and no longer wish to receive them, you can unsubscribe by clicking the “unsubscribe” link on one of the e-mails you receive or by visiting the WineCountry.com Newsletters section on the WineCountry.com Web site.

5. What security procedures does WineCountry.com use to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of information it collects?
WineCountry.com maintains a variety of industry-standard physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect personal information about you. We store the personal information you provide on computer systems access to which is limited and which are located in industry-standard secured facilities. We operate secure data networks protected by industry-standard firewall and password protection systems. Our internal security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary. Only those employees and WineCountry.com contractors who need to access your personal information in order to provide you with WineCountry.com products and Sites have access to personal information about.

WineCountry.com uses SSL and or TLS encryption when transmitting payment information.

While WineCountry.com takes reasonable steps to secure your personal information, no information storage system is fault-proof particularly when it involves data that is transmitted over the Internet. If WineCountry.com's security systems are breached, WineCountry.com may attempt to notify you electronically and, by using the Site and/or providing personal information to us, you agree that we can notify you electronically either by sending a notice to the e-mail address you have supplied or by posting a notice on the WineCountry.com Web site.

6. How long does WineCountry.com retain information about me?
WineCountry.com will retain information from which it is possible to identify you for a reasonable time bearing in mind the possibility of your re-using the Site. If you would like your information to be deleted at any time you should contact us using the details set out in Section 9 below.

If you would like to change or update preferences or e-mail newsletter subscriptions please follow the instructions described in Section 5 above. Because our business and Sites are changing and improving all the time, in the future we may find it necessary to make changes to this Privacy Policy.
