Wine Garden
Opens In Yountville

The Wine Garden Food and Wine Bar has opened in Yountville in the former location of the venerable Diner. The 77-seat restaurant is owned by the Nord family, prominent Napa Valley grape growers. Small plates of modern American food are the mainstays of the menu and are intended to complement wines made from grapes grown in the Nord family vineyards, including some wines with their own label. More than 50 selections, including the Nord wines, are served at the restaurant’s wine bar.
Chef Michael Bilger creates dishes from South America, Mexico and California. Food can be ordered to go, too, for a picnic at a local winery. The Wine Garden serves lunch and dinner daily. - Paul Franson

Sonoma-Meritage
On The Move

Chef and owner Carlo Cavallo has moved his Sonoma-Meritage Restaurant and Oyster Bar to the former location of Café Andalucía just off the Sonoma Plaza. Meritage features Southern French and regional Northern Italian cuisine plus a martini and oyster bar.

Along with classic favorites, Meritage offers tasting menus, some vegetarian and even vegan dishes. The wine list combines wines from Sonoma, Napa, Italy and France —most are reasonably priced and the list also includes some difficult-to-find treasures such as 1997 Chateau St. Jean Cinq Cépages and 1997 Joseph Phelps Insignia.

In addition to adding a full bar to the previous wine and beer offerings, the restaurant has its own parking lot and a much larger patio. It’s open daily except Tuesday for lunch and dinner.
