CHEETAHS AND CHARDONNAY - A BENEFIT DINNER
Cheetahs and ChardonnaySpotted, sleek, slender and swift, it softly purrs and catches prey in a matter of seconds – and no, I am not speaking of your house cat. On October 13, 2004 Safari West Wildlife Preserve & Resort welcomed Dr. Laurie Marker to their preserve to discuss Africa’s most endangered cat, cheetahs. The cheetah’s loss of natural habitat, prey base and the encroachment of people and livestock have threatened their survival. Dr. Marker is founder and executive director of the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF). She has dedicated her life to studying the cheetah and her talk revealed innovative tactics being taken to ensure the preservation of this magnificent cat. The public was invited to attend a special dinner reception for Dr. Laurie Marker to enjoy wonderful food, Chardonnay and provide a listening ear to CFC’s conservancy goals. With support, the ever graceful cheetah will once again be a thriving species in our world. Safari West Wildlife Preserve & Resort, Santa Rosa, CA 707.575.5275 |
