Sonoma County Harvest Fair
Wine Competition Award Winners!

If you missed the annual Harvest Fair Awards Celebration on September 25, 2004 – a banquet of gourmet treats, premier wines and the announcement of the Professional Wine & Food Competition Winners - - then here’s a lovely recap to entice you to attend next year’s event.

Local chefs, winemakers and wine country lifestyle connoisseurs alike were all apart of the fun at Grace Pavilion, Sonoma County Fairgrounds as they wined, dined and mingled with one another in anticipation of who would win one of the region’s most coveted awards this year. In the professional wine competition, both Hanna Winery and Acorn Winery were big sweepstakes winners. A distinguished panel of professional wine experts judged 873 wines, made exclusively from Sonoma grapes, in this regional competition. Hanna Winery was awarded the James Guymon Memorial Award for their sweepstakes winning 2003 Sauvignon Blanc wine for the second year in a row. Also a big winner was Acorn Winery in the red wine sweepstakes for their 2002 Zinfandel and they were presented with the George Cooke Award. Winemakers, Jeff Hinchcliffe (Hanna Winery) and Bill Nachbaur (Acorn Winery) were recognized with the Waterford crystal claret decanter for their winemaking expertise and recent success.

For a complete list of winners go to: www.harvestfair.org . Don’t be missing in action next year! Mark your calendars for the 2005 Harvest Fair – September 30, October 1-2 with details on the precursor Awards Night Celebration to be posted to the website in the near future.
