MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION / DOLCE WINERY
Make-A-Wish Napa Valley Style
At a special Dec. 6th holiday party at the new offices of the Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation in San Francisco, Napa Valley's Dolce Winery granted the first wish resulting from the Dolce Saint Nicholas charitable giving program. Only grapes picked on Dec. 6th, known as the feast of Saint Nicholas, can be made into a "Saint Nicholas" wine, making this special bottling of Dolce extremely rare. Only 1,000, 750 ml bottles of Dolce Saint Nicholas were produced, and Dolce Winery is donating $100 per bottle to support Make-A-Wish in granting wishes for children with life-threatening diseases. The first wish adopted was for Amir, a ten-year-old boy whose wish was to visit his sister in Oklahoma, also the home of the Nickel family who owns Dolce. Amir was treated to a wonderful week in Oklahoma, including a family wedding and a visit to an amusement park. Dolce plans on granting wishes throughout the year, until the Saint Nicholas wine is sold out. For more information, or to purchase Dolce Saint Nicholas and support the Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation, please call (707) 944.8868. |
