NADJA SALERNO-SONNENBERG, VIOLIN
The daring and intense Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg will perform two history-making ballet scores — Satie’s “Parade” and Stravinsky’s “Petrouchka” — as well as Bruch’s often neglected masterpiece “Violin Concerto in G Minor” at the Napa Valley Opera House on Jan 9 and Jan 11, 2005. Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg stands out in the field of classical music, with individual, passionate and powerful sound, a risk-taking persona, and with an energetic presence. A musician, author, and teacher, Nadja has been recognized as one of the world's preeminent violinists since 1981, when she burst onto the music scene as the youngest recipient of the Walter W. Naumburg International Violin Competition.
