A wine lover, enthusiastic traveler and dedicated volunteer, Heidi Paul co-founded FreeRun Technologies, Inc. in 1993 with a single vision: to tap the potential of the still-young Internet to market the Napa Valley to the specialized worlds of fine wine and destination travel. She and partner Frank Forbes launched WineCountry.com in 1994, quickly establishing it as the premier portal for information on wine-related travel to the Napa Valley. A Cum Laude graduate of Oral Roberts University, Paul received a degree in Business Marketing.

With Heidi Paul, Frank Forbes co-founded FreeRun Technologies, Inc. in 1993, following a successful career managing and directing high-tech engineering and marketing programs for Fortune 500 companies such as Intel and Memorex Telex. Forbes is credited with launching and managing Memorex Telex PC LAN products in North America. An avid adventurer, Forbes’ diverse interests include motorcycle riding, physics, Chinese boxing and wine tasting. He received his undergraduate degree and did post-graduate work in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Ohio University.

Garen Staglin - Chairman

"Winemaking technology whiz" best describes Garen Staglin, WineCountry.com's Chairman of the Board of Directors. Involved in consumer, transaction processing and financial services companies for more than 30 years, Staglin was most recently President and CEO of eONE Global LP, an emerging payments company funded by FDC and iFormation Group. With wife Shari, he now owns and operates the acclaimed Staglin Family Vineyard. Staglin earned a Bachelor of Science degree at UCLA and received his MBA from Stanford.

Gordon Bell – Board Member
A pioneering presence in the early age of computers, Gordon Bell spent 23 years at Digital Equipment Corp. as Vice President of Research and Development, where he was the architect of numerous computers and multiprocessors.  An author and patent holder, Bell is the recipient of numerous awards, including the 1991 National Medal of Technology for “his continuing intellectual and industrial achievements in the field of computer design; and for his leading role in establishing ... computers that serve as a significant tool for engineering, science, and industry.”  He is a senior researcher in Microsoft’s Media Presence Research Group, a part of the Bay Area Research Center. He is a founding board member of The Computer History Museum.
