Alt, or Alternate, text is an attribute that resides in the HTML
image tag. It is text that is readable while the image is loading,
if it doesn't load, or if a browser is set up to not display images.
It also appears in many browsers when the image is moused over,
and is readable to search engines while the image itself isn't.
It is wise to include alt. text for any image that is to be displayed.

The banner is a common form of internet advertisements. It typically
consist of a single image in the JPEG or GIF format. It can be
a static or and animated gif. A common size that has been used
extensively is 468 pixels w x 60 pixels h, but a banner can any
size. A banner with vertical dimensions greater than its horizontal

per hundred ad exposures expressed as a percentage. The CTR measures
the percentage of surfers who clicked on your ad to arrive at your website,
but does not include the surfers who did not click on the ad, but visited
your site later as a result of seeing the ad and remembering your business
name.

CPM stands for Cost Per Thousand (the letter "M" is
the Roman numeral for one thousand) This is the number of times
that we guarantee an advertiser a certain number of "impressions"
(the number of times a display ad is downloaded and seen by surfers).

Exposures are the "impressions" (the number of times a display ad is
downloaded and seen by surfers). As an example, a 2K exposure spotlight
will be seen by surfers a minimum of 2,000 times each month. Exposures
differ from Click-Throughs.

A featured listing includes a link to your website,
your address and phone number and an email link. There are details
describing your business such as minimum rate, number of rooms,
etc. There is a 25 or 50 word description, giving you the ability
to describe your business or property. We provide access to our
database using a user name and password giving you the ability
to change the text anytime you want.
When you become a featured advertiser you are featured
in both Region & Type. (example, Napa is a region, Inns &
B&B's is a type).
As a featured advertiser you are additionally linked
in the corresponding directories and have the ability to be linked
in our Event Calendar, What's new and Free Stuff page. We can
also set up several other links within your featured listing that
will send traffic to a specific page, such as a "special

(information is lost) compression technique for color images.
Images can be compressed to 5% of their original file size, but
the greater the compression, the greater the loss of original
image data. In preparing images for the Web using this format,

download quickly to the user's Web browser. This format is especially
well adapted to preparing photographs for the Web.

A link is a portion of text or an image that, when clicked with
the mouse, opens another Web page or site, or a different location
on the page. It is coded into the html page.

Short for Picture Element, a pixel is a single point or dot in
a graphic image. It is the smallest element on a monitor screen,
and there are usually between 72 and 96 pixels displayed per inch
depending on the size of the screen and its resolution setting.
