Hall Introduces Ultra-Premium 'Bergfeld' Cabernet
St. Helena | CA
ST. HELENA, Calif. (Sept. 6, 2006) - HALL Wines St. Helena has
introduced a new wine, "Bergfeld", a premier Cabernet Sauvignon,
made from the fruit from the winery's historic St. Helena vineyard
and honoring Napa Valley pioneer Robert Bergfeld.
The Bergfeld Winery (circa 1885) still stands as a historic landmark on the HALL 401 St. Helena Highway South property. From 10 am until 5 pm on Saturday, September 16, visitors are invited to taste the 2003 HALL Bergfeld Cabernet Sauvignon, tour the historic Bergfeld winery, and sample the 2005 vintage straight from the barrel. Tours and barrel tastings will be given on the hour from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm.
2003 HALL Bergfeld Cabernet Sauvignon ($90/bottle) is a blend
of fruit from the northern end of their HALL St. Helena vineyard,
delivering a dense wine with concentrated fruit and exceptional
balance. 341 cases were produced and the wine is only available
at the winery. HALL's St. Helena property has a rich heritage
with vines being planted on the property as early as 1859, among
the first in Napa Valley. A portion of the proceeds from the sale
of this wine is donated to the St. Helena Historical Society.
HALL winery is located in St. Helena and specializes in Bordeaux
varietals from some of the finest vineyards in the region. HALL
wines above all reflect their vineyard origins, and proprietors
Kathryn and Craig Hall own more than 500 acres of vineyards in
Napa Valley and Alexander Valley. HALL Napa Valley wines are distributed
nationally, and the winery is open daily for visitors. For additional
