Comstock Wines

The Comstock family is no stranger to Dry Creek Valley. Proprietors Bob and Sandy Comstock purchased their personal vineyard in 2002 and began farming some of the region's classic varietals. Over the years, the discussion of creating a family winery grew to the point that when the ideal location became available, they jumped at the opportunity to build their dream.

After securing the location, top priority was given to finding a Winemaker that shared the vision and the desire to create wines that speak to the regional uniqueness found in different parts of Sonoma County. Sourcing fruit from Sonoma Coast, Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley and Dry Creek Valley gives veteran Winemaker Chris Russi the ability to showcase the truly individual characteristics of each varietal.

The experience at Comstock Wines goes well beyond the glass. General Manager and Proprietor, Kelly Comstock Ferris, and the Comstock Wines hospitality team strive to create programs that showcase not only the wines but also the local lifestyle. Twice a month guests can participate in an experience like no other: Yoga in the Vineyards. This popular program includes an hour-long yoga practice, followed by a continental breakfast and glass of Sauvignon Blanc. On the first Friday of each month, the team fires up their Mugnaini Wood-Fired Oven and hosts an afternoon of Bocce, Pizza, and Wine. If you can’t make it to one of the scheduled experiences, the team is happy to work with you to create the perfect afternoon for you and your guests.

Established by family and friends to collectively share their enchantment with Dry Creek Valley. Comstock Wines is anchored by their estate Old Vine Zinfandel Vineyard, which is estimated to be over 110 years old. As guests enter the property, they are greeted with a sweeping view of their estate Merlot vineyards, framed by hundred-year-old olive trees. The modern tasting room is dotted with personal touches, including Dry Creek aggregate that was collected from the creek at proprietors Bob and Sandy Comstock’s personal ranch, and has been incorporated into the custom concrete tasting bar top. Taste through a flight that includes Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Then picnic in the gardens and enjoy a game of bocce.
