Hi Stan,

Thanks for jumping in. We need more "real" experts on this blog rather than those of us who think we are experts. We had another chime in from V. Sattui and it is just great.

I am familiar with most of the wineries you mentioned. Have been in Von Strassers cave for a tasting and thought it very nice. Maybe I will give them a shout.

We will be making the trip in early March and for that trip, my itinerary is full, but will make another trip in October. One of my objectives is to ferret out small family owned wineries that maybe produce one to three varietals. Most of the ones I have visited are listed as "not open to the public" and are normally the best ones. Any suggestions from an expert?

Again, welcome aboard.

I don't know a winery that routinely offers dinners in their cave. But, here are nice upper-valley wineries have great caves and who will probably help you organize a small dinner - Service most likely delivered by small caterer/restaurant unless they have an on-site kitchen. You can request bringing in your own food to pair with their wine also: Spring Mtn, Pride Mtn, Von Strasser, Reverie (this one frequently does food-oriented events). Have fun! - Stan

I thought that Williamson might be out of reason for your needs, but felt I should offer the idea just in case.
I haven't found the back issues of my magazines, but will see what I can do.

Hi Yes,

I think Williamson's have a party every Friday night, the problem is the drive time after.

I was hoping for something more St. Helena north.

Hawkeye, I believe I read about wine dinners being an option at Hall and Kuleto in one of the wine magazines last year. I will try to find the back issues I have to confirm...
Though not in Napa...did you happen to check and see if the Williamsons might be having a dinner that evening?

I don't expect to receive many replies to this topic. I am looking for a Wine Pairing dinner for 10-13 people on Saturday night, October 13. It can be a part of another group or one scheduled for the public. North Napa Valley and in a cave would be preferable. Please provide information, cost, etc.
