Thanks Yes and Damombo for the info!

I looked at the website: interesting!

Good song, isn'it? :-)

Well now I'll be singing that Beatles tune all day...

Hi Pam,

I agree with Yes that tipping in the tasting room isn't the norm. I've never felt the pressure to do so, and frankly, if I did, I wouldn't go back to that tasting room.

Hi Poly' and welcome to the boards.
I don't believe that it is customary to tip the tasting room staff, I have seen a tip jar on the counter once or twice, but that seemed to be judged as rude by locals.
To find out more about tasting room etiquette, the winecountry.com website used to have a tab called wine 101, but I don't see it now. Courtney Cochran wrote an article about tasting etiquette that I printed long ago...perhaps a site search for etiquette will locate it. If not,
winecountrygetaways.com also has a good tutorial and I believe their "tab" is called Tasting Room.
This is a friendly place- if you think of more questions, c'mon back!

I'm visiting Napa for the first time in a couple of weeks and I would like to know something about tastings and tip (I dont want to make a mistake!):

Is people expected to tip the tasting room staff? If so, how much?

Thanks and have a very nice day! :-)
