Very nice! I am excited to try more of these wines and will definitely look into Tresspass.

Also, not Venge related, but we opened our first TRB wine this evening - the 2008 Wallis Estate Little Sister Prop Red. It has not disappointed - earthy, dark fruit, mocha and smooth finish. Definitely look forward to trying more TRB wines!

Chris

Hi gcb17,

We have 2 bottles of the 1010 Proprietary Red and 2 bottles of the 2009 Family Reserve in our cooler, plus still have 2 bottles of the Bone Ash Vineyard. Will have to break out the 2010 Prop Red soon and try it.

We also have some 07, 08, and 09 Tresspass NV Estate Cab which Kirk Venge makes. You might also look that one up and try it.

Thanks for this, Hawkeye. We are becoming fans of the Venge wines. We recently acquired a bottle of the 2006 Family Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Oakville Estate which Robert Parker scored 95. We look forward to enjoying this one before too long. We have really enjoyed the 2010 Scout's Honor, which I think is quite impressive for such a young wine. We may have to visit Venge next trip.

I wrote to Sky that we were going to try the 2009 Venge Bone Ash Vineyard Cabernet at dinner last evening.

This wine received a 93 rating from Wine Spectator's James Laube in December 2011. Here is what he said:

"Combining power with finesse, this is dark, rich and concentrated, offering blackberry, spice, black licorice and subtle cedar touches. Quite brawny now, but with a wonderful, pure push of fruit on the finish. Best from 2013 through 2023." J.L.

It also received 95 Points - Wine Enthusiast, Steve Heimoff - May 2012.

This was a powerful Cab. The nose garnered several WOW's. The wine could lay down for another year and would be better, but even better, maybe 5-10 years. I still have 2 bottles but may not be able to wait until the required number of years.

The 2009 Bone Ash Cab is sold out, but you can bet that I am going to stop in October and get my allocation of the 2010.
