Hi Chris,

After visiting the cave at Hall Rutherford, I can only imagine what the Hall's home is like. Please send us a report when you return. Have a great trip.

Thanks for the input and suggestions, Hawkeye. I was thinking the same as you - knowing Hall it will likely be primarily black tie. I am contacting Hall today to get a better feel, but I guess there are limited opportunities each year to dress in black tie (at least for me), so will likely go that route.

Chris

Hi Chris,

While I was perusing the Hall website, I noticed a reference to an Events Coordinator somewhere but when I went back to look, I could not find it again. If you can find her, I would suggest you give her a call and ask your question. Otherwise, check with the wine club person. The only advice that I can come up with.

Being familiar with the Hall Winery, I would guess that it would be black tie mostly.

Let me first say that this may not be the proper forum for this, so I apologize in advance if that is the case.

We have just booked our next trip over Dec 12-18, and are very excited. We are members at Hall and noticed that a 'Halliday' party is taking place on the 14th at the Rutherford home of the Halls. We figured it might be something fun to do at least once, so RSVPd. The confirmation stated the event is Black Tie Optional, which leads to my question.

Have any here attended any of the previous Hall events or similar events at other wineries out there? I am leaning toward wearing a tux, but don't want to end up the only guy wearing one. I know that Napa Valley dress tends to lean toward the more casual side when there is question, but wasn't sure in this case since the event is at the residence. I'll probably contact the person at Hall, but figured I'd ask around here too.

Chris
