@Ilovewine can't wait until Randy unveils that sparkling. Other notables are Michael Benard in Dry Creek, Iron Horse, Gloria Ferrer-blanc de noir, domain Carneros - Blanc de Blanc, Mumms - DVX, Schramsburg its all good and Domain Chandon.www.StacysWineStop.com "To drink wine is fine, but to experience wine is divine!" Thanks Cabgirl! I don't think that we hold too closely to one board or another here, do we?? If so, i'm in a heap o' trouble I haven't tried Schramsberg, but we don't care for J either. I hadn't thought about food coloring! It might work... My problem is that I have a taste profile in mind.IP: 98.232.221.183 |

Does the sparkler really have to be red? Just add a drop or two of red food coloring to a non-red sparkler! Something dry and rich, eh? What about the sparkling Rose from Chandon, oh and I like the one that Mumm does as well. Oh wait, this is Sonoma. Oops! Now that I think about it, I don't think I've tasted any red sparklers from Sonoma. Only the regular stuff from the likes of Gloria Ferrer, Schramsberg, and J Vineyards. You might want to give the latter two a try. They have Rose in their repertoire. Let us know how they taste! IP: 68.121.220.114 |

Sorry Yesilovewine - we aren't big sparkling drinkers. The last sparking wine we bought was a Rouge from Frank Family. It was tasty, but there was a strawberriness to it... not super sweet. I'd buy it again, but I'm not sure if it's only available at their winery or it you can get it somewhere else.IP: 98.198.194.134 |

Greetings Friends! With Valentine's Day coming up I am searching for a good red sparkling wine...something dry and rich. A rose would be okay if it isn't too sweet ...I don't want too much of that strawberry note. And I already know that we don't care for anything by Gloria Ferrer and Korbel's regular line doesn't really suit us either. Ideas anyone???

I'm sure that it will be great, given that its a Williamson, Hawkeye. Is it red or white? We had a wonderful sparkling shiraz by a winery in Australia several years ago called Joseph Red. I don't know how our wine gal got it, but to date ( almost 6 years later) I have yet to find it here. I just learned a couple days ago that the distributor has some product in our area, but with the holidays I have yet to get in touch. Obviously we really liked it for me to pursue it for so long! Anxious to hear how the "Fizz" goes over. Happy New Year and thanks for keeping this board going!IP: 98.232.221.183 |

We will start tonight by opening a bottle of Williamson Fizz sparkling wine. I have never been a fan of the sparklings, but this one is outstanding. We purchased this on our October trip.Happy New Year. IP: 68.169.189.111 |

Happy New Year to all my new wine friends here!!! I hope you have a safe holiday and a new year full of great wine experiences (that you will hopefully share ). Sonoma County is known for some good sparkling houses-Korbel, Iron Horse and Gloria Ferrer come to mind- but I am certain there must be other producers out there. Anyone had a good sparkler produced in Sonoma County lately? I have to check our rack, but I don't think we have anything on hand and I can't recall trying anything on the last visit. Cheers to all!!!IP: 98.232.221.183 |
