The old Pizza Azzurro has moved to 1260 Main St. in Napa with a new location and name - Azzurro Pizzeria E Enoteca. It was good before but now I consider it a destination! Beautiful new addition to Main St! The gourmet pizzas are incredible, pasta perfect and the wine list has some great selections at reasonable prices. To the old menu, there have added antipasti and bruschette which are changed seasonally. The caesar salad is the best I have ever had! For dessert they have soft serve Straus Organic Ice Cream with homemade carmel (with a touch of grey salt) or chocolate sauce. A giant step up from the old location. Kuddos to Chef Michael Gyetvan!
It's open for lunch and dinner. No reservations unless you book the family table for 8 to 10 people.

There are a couple of really good eats in Yountville. Hurley's never disappoints - never! The salmon, sea bass special, rib-eye are delicious. And not to be missed is the ice cream sandwich and heavenly hot chocolate. Makes me want to take a trip right now.

Also check out Bouchon. And if just in the area for a snack - don't pass up a trip to Bouchon Bakery!

There are some very good restaurants on the upper end of the Napa Valley. In Calistoga there is the Calistoga Inn Restaurant that had pot roast to die for (my wife and I split one and were still full). The Flat Iron Grill is one of our favorites with original paintings of dairy cows on the walls. A place for pizza or pasta is Bosco's Italian restaurant. We felt that Brannon's was over priced for the quality that we received. Just down Hwy 29 a little way is the Silverado Brewing Company that was very good. Three others down Hwy 29 are Mustard's and The Napa Valley Grill. The Yountville Grill is a favorite of the locals and ours.
