I agree with you! If you are not into wine then splurge and stay at the best, however, if you love wine and are on a budget of sorts, why spend $300.00+ dollars on a room you sleep in when you can spend those extra $$$ on a fabulous bottle of wine or two from some of the wineries hidden away. Then there are those that can do both... spend the $$$ on their stay and purchase the great wine too...ahhh one day

My wife and I just returned from a five night stay in Calistoga at the Stevenson Best Western Inn. As far as Napa hotels go, it is fairly inexpensive. It is clean, comfortable with a very friendly staff . . . Bill and Sandy are excellent. The whole property is undergoing refurbishing. The Inn is close to a lot of wineries and good restaurants. Both the Silverado Trail and Hwy. 29 are very accessible. We believe in spending our money on good wine to bring home and not give it to the posh resorts.
