When do you arrive in the area and when do you leave? (arrive morning of one day and leave afternoon of the other?)
What all are you wanting to do while there?
What sort of wines are you interested in or are you looking for an overall sort of experience?

Yes, I have heard that most places require a two night stay during peak times. I just checked our usual spot (Best Western Inn of the Vines) and yep, they say 2 nights needed. There is a very nice hotel over in Sonoma County called Vintners Inn, I just checked a room for 2 on a Saturday night, and they seem to have a couple of rooms available with no mention of 2 nights needed - you might go check that and see what their cancellation policy is, then grab a room and have it as a back up (and a lovely back up it would be!) And perhaps the hotels in Sonoma County don't have that restriction - I don't know.

Anyway, let us know a bit more about what you are hoping to do and we will advise from there!

My husband and I are traveling to CA at the end of July. We have one night to spend in either Napa or Sonoma.

We have never been to the area before and are looking for recommendations on where to start planning. It seems that most hotels/BB require a two night minimum?

All times are ET (US)
