2nd Annual Pumpkin Pandemonium and Community Trick-o-Treat

Monterey| CA

Monterey, CA (September 19, 2005), Del Monte Center will hold its fun and festive 2nd Annual Pumpkin Pandemonium and Community Trick-o-Treat on Halloween, Monday, October 31, 2005 starting at 3:00 p.m. Pumpkin Pandemonium is a free family event that celebrates all things pumpkin! All pumpkins have been generously donated by Borchard Farms.

2:00 pm Farmer Mike, "The Picasso of Pumpkin Carvers", will
begin to transform a 700lb. Giant Pumpkin from Borchard Farms into a three-dimensional work of art.

3:00 pm Trick-or-Treating begins throughout Del Monte Center.
Costumed children and also pets are invited to have their photo taken with the Giant Pumpkin.
Big Mama Sue performs at the Sunken Garden area.
Voting begins for "People's Choice Award" from Pumpkin Art Walk (see below).
Pumpkin Pie Eating Contests by Marie Callendars.

4:00 pm "Monster Bash" performance at the Fountain area.

The "Pumpkin Art Walk" will exhibit 180 uniquely decorated and
hand-painted pumpkins by local high school art students in Del Monte Center store windows from October 15 through October 31, 2005. On October 31st during Pumpkin Pandemonium, the community can vote for their High School's favorite pumpkin by donating a $1 for their favorite pumpkin (all proceeds directly benefit the art departments). The high school's pumpkin that collects the most votes will also win a $500 donation for their Art Department. Local judges will award three individual student prizes of a $50, $100 and $250 Del Monte Center Gift Cards.

Monster Bash is a spook-tacular musical comedy and sing-a-long for children of all ages. Hosted by four of your favorite freaky friends from Halloween past, "Monster Bash" features 30 minutes of happenin' Halloween tunes that will have everyone doin' the Time Warp, the Monster Mash, and the Frankenstein Funk! Join Ms. Witch, Dracula, Franky Stein, and his Bride as they involve the entire audience in this not-so-spooky bash featuring ghoulish and foolishly fun Halloween games with tons of tricks, treats, and prizes!
