It’s tough for a gal not to get all gushy about Chanel, and for this gal, an auction item including some Chanel, a private jet to Paris and accommodations at the über luxe Hotel Plaza Athénée is about as good as it gets.  Add to all this fabulousness a vertical of double magnums from one of Napa’s most sought-after new wines and special perks in Par-ee (think fashion show tix and a tour of Coco Chanel’s private apartments), and you’ve got the stuff of wine-loving fashionista fantasy.
Fantasy Becomes Reality
But this isn’t the stuff of fantasy – it’s now reality for a crew of lucky bidders who paid $300,000 – the 4th highest grossing lot at this year’s Auction Napa Valley – for Blackbird Vineyards’ unique lot. Their adventures will take them from New York to Paris via private jet for the spring 2009 Chanel fashion show, then back to Napa Valley for an intimate feast prepared by a top Bay Area chef at Ma(i)sonry , a luxury private events venue opening later this year in Yountville. It’s also owned by Blackbird Vineyards proprietor Michael Polenske , a man who’s doing a fantastic job integrating some of the best elements of the good life – like wine, fashion and good old-fashioned fun – and making quite a name for himself and his brand in the process. Très bien fait!
