The readers of Conde Nast Traveler have named the Kenwood Inn and Spa (
www.kenwoodinn.com) the Top Resort in Mainland USA in the magazine’s 21st Annual Readers’ Choice Awards. The awards are derived from the Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Survey, the largest independent poll of consumers’ preferences. Over 32,000 readers voted this year.
Smartly tucked away in Sonoma County’s Valley of the Moon, the
Kenwood Inn and Spa is an intimate retreat hailed by wine country
aficionados as the ultimate getaway. The 2 – acre grounds of the Inn
are literally alive with oak groves, walnut and fruit trees. The
Mediterranean-style villa has three lush courtyards – each with an
exquisite saline swimming pool – fountains, a serene pond, meticulously
landscaped flora, and abundant ivy cascading up, down, and around the
Inn. Private guestroom entrances lead into each of the secluded
twenty-nine rooms and suites designed with guest privacy in mind.
In-room indulgences include: fireplaces, featherbeds, Rivolta
Carmignani Italian linens for both bed and bath, and plush cotton
bathrobes. Kenwood’s full-service spa highlights the organic products
of ARCONA, along with treatments that utilize vinotherapy and the
healing power of grapes. The restaurant at the Kenwood Inn & Spa
offers yet another compelling draw as it is available only to in-house
guests. Italian-born, executive chef Renzo Veronese shops local farms
and farmer’s markets, stocking the kitchen with in-season organics and
fresh ingredients and creates a rustic Italian, a la carte menu focused
on house made pastas, meats and fish incorporating estate grown fruit
as available.
David Di Loreto, CEO for Vero Westside/Kenwood Holdings is ecstatic over receiving
this award. “This recognition brings acclaim and validation to our unwavering
commitment to provide an amazing, quality guest experience. It is truly
an honor for our company and the Kenwood team, but moreover for Sonoma County
as a world-class travel destination.”
“These awards celebrate the destinations, lodgings, and modes of transportation that
manage to exceed our expectations,” said Conde Nast Traveler Editor in
Chief Klara Glowczewska. “The Readers’ Choice Awards, with over 32,000
readers voting, are a credit to the worldly expertise of our readers’ passionate
travelers for whom no island is too remote, no city too challenging, and no
hotel too untested.”
The complete results of the awards can be found in the November issue of Conde Nast Traveler, on newsstands October 21st or on the magazine’s website at
cntraveler.com. The Readers Choice Awards gala took place
on Wednesday, October 15th in New York City at the New York Public
Library. Photos and video from the event are available upon request.

About Conde Nast Traveler
Truth in Travel: Many travel publications accept free travel and
accommodations. Conde Nast Traveler does not, and its
correspondents, as far as possible, travel anonymously. They experience
travel the way consumers do, both the good and the bad, and report on it fairly
and honestly. In 2008, Conde Nast Traveler was named one of the
top 10 magazines in the U.S. by both Adweek and Advertising Age- one of only
three magazines in the U.S. to be named on both lists. Conde
Nast Traveler has an audience of 3.1 million and is published by Conde Nast
Publications, Inc. Online at cntraveler.com.
