After dutifully sheltering-in-place for nearly three months, a day of wine tasting in Santa Barbara may sound like the perfect escape — we don’t blame you! With a diverse selection of world-class wine, stunning wineries, and hip, urban tasting rooms, Santa Barbara has a lot to offer any wine lover. So, if you’re feeling healthy and ready to venture out again, good news: as of June 12, all of Santa Barbara County’s wineries have been given the okay to reopen. That said, recent Covid-19 guidelines in California have mandated that only outdoor tastings are currently permitted.

Below you’ll find a current list of Santa Barbara wineries open for wine tastings and wine experiences. Just be sure to check with each winery in advance to confirm opening hours, procedures, and that they are still offering tastings, as things are constantly changing.

Also, it’s important to note that while some wineries are open for walk-ins, many are requesting (or requiring) an appointment — particularly on weekends. It’s also worth mentioning that the wine tasting experience will look a little differently than usual as wineries embrace tastings during the Covid-19 era. Think contactless payment methods, single-use tasting menus, pre-poured flights, and other measures to limit face-to-face interactions and keep you and the staff as safe as possible.
