Mônica da Silva and Chad Alger are a Brazilian American duo based in Los Angeles, California. The duo blend Bossa Nova, and International influences to form their signature sound, their self-coined Indie Nova genre. They tour the United States, and Canada, and have shared the stage with artists like Buena Vista Social Club, Arlo Guthrie, and Emmylou Harris. da Silva sings in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and French. She also adds flute and melodica to their arrangements. da Silva’s multilingual compositions have been featured in the movie ‘Lady Bird’, in The World Cup, on the Putumayo World Music compilation ‘Brazilian Beat’, and in the Paramount Network series ‘American Woman’.
