Erika Lenkert realized the allure of great cooking and entertaining when
at eleven years old she could persuade her friends to come over
with the promise of homemade garlic bread. By high school she had
developed an insatiable desire for eggs benedict and often found herself
whipping up hollandaise sauce in the middle of the night. Through college
she accentuated her parties with homemade sushi or lasagna and worked in
restaurants and bars so that she could eat and party her way around the
world.
Committed to turning her pursuit of pleasure into a career, Erika became
a freelance journalist and for a decade has been taking cooking
classes around the world and writing about food, travel, trends,
and the good life for everyone from WineCountry.com, In Style, Travel & Leisure,
Bon Appétit, and Food & Wine
to Brides, Los Angeles Magazine, San Francisco Magazine, and
the Culinary
Institute of America at Greystone. Along the way she co-authored the
trendsetting Raw: The Uncook Book and authored The Last-Minute
Party Girl.
