Celebrate 20 years of “classical boom” with Black Violin at the Sunset Center! Violinist Kev Marcus and violist Wil Baptiste fuse classical training with hip-hop influences, creating a unique sound that has captivated audiences worldwide. Their album Stereotypes, featuring collaborations with Black Thought and Pharoahe Monch, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Classical Crossover Chart and #4 on the R&B Chart. NPR hailed their work, noting, “their music will keep classical music alive for the next generation.”
Dedicated to educational outreach, Black Violin performs for over 100,000 students annually and serves as Turnaround Artists for Mary B. Bethune Elementary School through a national education initiative.
